SPRINGFIELD, IL - Today was Governor's Day at the Illinois State Fair as Pat Quinn joined a host of Democratic Candidates in greeting over 1,700 invitees at a luncheon held on the Director's Lawn at the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield.

Governor Quinn, a Democrat, is in a tight race against conservative billionaire businessman Bruce Rauner. The self-funded Republican has stated that he would have vetoed marriage equality legislation that Quinn signed into law last fall.votebranding2

#Boom is currently scheduling its interview with Gov. Quinn later this summer, but had a chance to briefly speak with the state's Chief Executive and pose for a quick photograph.

"I was proud to do it," said Quinn on signing marriage equality into law in Illinois. "It's so important that we get this done."

Quinn delivered a red meat stump speech to the partisan crowd, reminding voters that Rauner would gut education, labor and health care.
