History was made at International Mr. Leather 2019 (IML) in Chicago, Memorial Day Weekend, as Jack Thompson became the first transgender person of color to clinch the coveted title in the contest's 41 years.
Thompson, who hails from Baltimore, Maryland, was among a record 68 IML contestants, including 18 contestants from 15 International locations representing Belgium, Germany, Australia, Italy, Mexico, France, Ireland, Spain, Canada, Netherlands, Switzerland, Venezuela, China, European Union, and Israel.
In 2010, New Mexico's Tyler McCormick became the first trans masculine contestant to win IML.
Joining Thompson on the victory stand were IML 2019 first runner-up Jawn Marques, from San Francisco, and second runner-up Fionn Scott, from Ireland.
Also held over the weekend was the 27th Anniversary International Mr. Bootblack with Kriszly de Hond, from the Netherlands, taking home the title. IMB 2019 first runner-up was Geoff Millard, from California, with second runner up placement going to Sparkie, from Illinois.
