ST. LOUIS – ChoiceArt has emerged as one of the most anticipated arts events in the Gateway City having raised more than $100,000 for Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri since its founding in 2010. Hosted by friendsbychoice, this year's fall fundraiser will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 at the always innovative Contemporary Art Museum (3750 Washington Blvd., 63108).

The art auction and social affair will showcase a selection of work by local and national artists and includes hors d' oeuvres, signature drinks and cocktails and conversation with a fun and fabulous crowd.

“I am excited to be celebrating ChoiceArt’s 5th year,” said local artist Deanna Chafin, co-founder and curator of Choice Art. “When Todd Villmer and I started this fundraiser, we had no idea how big it would become. The fact that our event has grown from 100 guests in 2010 to over 400 last year means we have more people supporting Planned Parenthood and their mission to help those in our community.”

“This year we have 44 artists who generously donated work for the event, including our Honorary Chair Jane Linders, as well as Shannen Green, Charlie Houska, Jeff Kapfer, Ken Konchel and Catherine Williamson,” Chafin continued. “Many of the pieces you’ll see at the show are not typical of what you’d normally see at a fundraising auction. Several of our paintings range in size from 4 ft to 9 ft wide!”

An award winning photographer, Linders is active around the issues of choice, social justice and is a proud supporter of the LGBT community.

ChoiceArt 2014 kicks off at the CAM at 7 p.m. this Saturday. General Admission is $35 and the VIP experience is just $75, which includes early bidding on all art, meet and greet with the artists, exclusive hors d'oeuvres and a champagne toast!

Planned Parenthood of the St. Louis Region and Southwest Missouri has been the leading provider, educator and protector of reproductive health care in the region for over 80 years friendsbychoice brings together young, professional Planned Parenthood supporters and engages them.
