SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Old Glass Place in downtown Springfield was filled with members of the Queen City LGBT community on Saturday night to mark the 20th anniversary of The Gay & Lesbian Community Center of the Ozarks.

The GLO Center is not only the longest standing LGBT community center in Missouri, but excluding Chicago, is the longest continually operational LGBT community center in the five state region.

Attendees mixed, mingled and reminisced while enjoying a variety of food and drink provided by Chabom, Big Momma's, Sisters in Thyme, June's Cakery, Red Top Oven, Askinosie Chocolate, Sassy's Goodies, and Gilardi's.

Speakers included Krista Moncado, Executive Director of GLO; Gregg Johnson, Board President of GLO, and former Missouri State Representative Sara N. Lampe.

Johnson also presented awards to longtime GLO supporters and former board members Rose DeGray, Jim House, Dr. Holly Baggett, and Mark Gideon.

The GLO Center supports the well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) persons in the greater Springfield, Missouri region by organizing and sponsoring community activities and by increasing public understanding and appreciation of GLBT citizens.
