CHICAGO, Ill. - According to Equality Illinois, individuals can use the restroom consistent with their gender identity in the Land of Lincoln. But for many transgender and gender non-conforming Americans the simple practice of using these public facilities can be the source of great stress and anxiety.

To that end, The Chicago Restroom Access Project ( CRAP ) [yes, you read that right], are seeking input from an array of people to choose the new signage for single-stall restrooms in the city.

Creating Change attendees descending on Chicago's Hilton Hotel this week will have a chance to weigh in on the four designs - as will the public at large. Individuals can pick their favorite design at the Pride Action Tank Facebook page: The survey will be open from Friday, Jan. 15 — Tuesday, March 1, 2016.

According to the Windy City Times, the winning design will be offered to businesses, schools, nonprofits and government offices to be used to create a more welcoming environment for trans* and gender non-conforming individuals using single-stall restrooms.
