ST. LOUIS, Mo. - St. Louis Black Pride, EDURAIN and The Serenity Strategy Network will be hosting the Business-A-Thon, on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at the World Community Center (438 North Skinker Blvd., 63130) from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

BizAThonArtThe free event is designed to help LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs just starting out on how and what to do to establish their own business. The Business-A-Thon's goal is to help attendees develop their business-model canvas, improve products that are already being sold, and aid in developing future products.

"In the beginning of my journey into entrepreneurship I had very little help and I had a lot of people just outright laugh at me," said Bryon Dawayne Pierson Jr., CEO of The Serenity Strategy Network. "I learned a lot in building the business around our app and website, so I decided to host this event for free to help other people with the information I have learned."

"It doesn’t have to be tech-oriented either," Pierson continued. "St. Louis Black Pride, EDURAIN, and The Serenity Strategy Network are hosting this event, which is geared towards LGBTQIA+ individuals, but anyone can come to get help with their business for free, because we are trying to help as many individuals as possible from any background."

According to organizers, the Business-A-Thon will help entrepreneurs and small business owners build a go-to-market strategy, product development roadmap, sales strategy, pricing strategy, and competitive analysis.

"This is good for the community, because in the views of economic development in St. Louis, LGBTQIA+ people do not talk about building businesses," said Pierson. "This pushes the narrative that LGBTQIA+ economic development is more than just getting people jobs, it's about building opportunities."
