ST. LOUIS, Mo. - Construction of the iconic blue and yellow IKEA store, the world's leading home furnishings retailer, is well underway on 21 acres along Interstate-64 at Vandeventer Avenue not far from the city's Grove gayborhood.

While the 380,000 square foot property prepares for its Fall 2015 opening, the Swedish retailer has announced it is halting it's online magazine in Russia due to concerns it violates the country's ban on promotion of same-sex or gay values to minors.

The Associated Press reports IKEA issued a Russian language statement saying their publication "demonstrates various aspects of home life regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation."

Russia's anti-propaganda law was passed in 2013 and bans promotion of "non-traditional sexual relations" to people under the age of 18.
