SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - It's billed the "Gayest Day in Central Illinois" and Saturday's Springfield PrideFest did not disappoint.  Thousands of LGBTQIA+ revelers strolled the streets beneath the iconic Capitol dome, enjoyed music from the Club Station House stage,  and browsed over 60 organizational, food and business vendors between 4th and 6th streets. The 6th annual Pride Celebration is organized byThe Phoenix Center and kicks off a slate of regional LGBT Pride celebrations in Missouri and Illinois over the next months. Special guests at Pridefest were Springfield Mayor Jim Langfelder and Ward 6 Alderman Cory Jobe.
