SPRINGFIELD, IL - The 8th annual Springfield PrideFest will kick off LGBTQ Pride Season across the region on Saturday, May 19, in the shadow of the historic Illinois capitol.

The event is organized by the Phoenix Center and has grown exponentially over the years drawing over 100 vendors and 10K revelers.

This year's Springfield PrideFest theme is “No H8, No labels.” and will feature musical acts, DJs, a drag show and dedicated areas for children (petting zoo, games, crafts and snacks) and teens (all-day DJ, drag show and karaoke).

The Springfield Pride Parade, now in its second year, starts things off at 11:30 a.m. at Fifth and Allen streets and will end on Capitol Avenue for the official ribbon cutting ceremony.
