ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The annual Midwest Leather Weekend will take place October 5-7, at JJ’s Clubhouse & Bar near the Grove. The highlight of the weekend is the combination of the Mr. Midwest Leather Contest and Midwest Puppy Contest, held Saturday night, October 6. 


The two contests will take place before the same panel of judges. While participants from one contest are off stage preparing for the next segment, the participants from the other contest will be on stage. It's twice the fun and more hot men on one special night.


Both contests are open to members of the leather and puppy Communities in thirteen Midwestern states  Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Ohio and Wisconsin.


According to organizers, the weekend is more than just the two contests. There’s social events Friday, Saturday and Sunday, open to all members of the kink community – experienced or beginning.


Friday Night:


The MWLW Meet & Greet will be held on Friday at JJ's Clubhouse & Bar from 9 p.m. - ?. The event is open to the public. Come meet and greet the contestants, judges, staff and assembled leatherfolk and puppyfolk. Contestants for both contests will be drawing their numbers for the order in which they will appear on stage.




The Kink Seminars will be held again on Saturday afternoon, October 6, at JJ's Clubhouse and Bar, and are open to the public with free admission. Leading experts in their fields will offer classes on selected kink topics, often with demonstrations and hands-on practicing. People have traveled from neighboring states in the past to attend the seminars. It’s a great opportunity to learn as well as meet people.


The Judge's Dinner is Saturday night, at 6901 S Broadway, St. Louis, Mo. 63111, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and open to the public. Come dine with judges and contestants at this private event. Remember – street legal attire is required. The evening is sponsored by Bar:PM. with meal catered by Crusoes:


(Saturday night's dinner menu includes salad, roast beef, oven roasted chicken breast, small number of baked fish, mashed potatoes, brown and white gravy, green beans, corn, rolls, and cheesecake, all with a drink ticket for each guest.  The price is $10.50 per person.)


The Midwest Puppy and Mr Midwest Leather Contests at JJ's Clubhouse and Bar - doors open at 9 p.m. on Saturday night. 


Further, noted leather artist Jerry Miller will be presenting his work Saturday night, from 10:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., with the help of his handpicked models.


The Contests start promptly at 11 p.m. (yes, really). Admission is $10 per person. Come early, check out the famous Silent Auction, enjoy the raffles (enter to win over 50 bottles of liquour, wine and beer*) and jello shots. 


(*Over 50 Bottles Raffle: $5 a ticket, 3 for $10, 6 for $20. Need not be present to win.)


Sunday Brunch:


The annual Sunday Brunch will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at West End Grill & Pub, 354 N Boyle Ave, St. Louis, MO 63108. Join leather, puppy, fetish and kink kindred for the traditional Sunday Brunch. Again – street legal attire is required. Please note, this is not a closed event but the Grill is a very welcoming establishment. Next door is the St Louis Actors Studio and Chef Liz of Tenacious Eats and West End Grill & Pub will be giving a free tour at 2:30 p.m. Off street parking is available: 


(Attendees will be ordering off the menu with entertainment provided by Mera Mangle. As an added bonus, Chef Liz is preparing a custom designed cocktail for the occasion, the Welcome Wagon Cocktail.)
